'Are you going to be OK?' ABC News' Jonathan Karl is still waiting for Donald Trump to directly condemn that meme video

Yesterday morning, White House Press Secretary Stephanie Grisham tweeted that Donald Trump had yet to see the now-infamous video depicting him taking out his political and media opponents, but “based upon everything he has heard, he strongly condemns this video”:

It’s been a whole day since Grisham’s tweet, and ABC News’ Jon Karl would like to make it clear that he’s not satisfied with what she had to say:

24 hours later, still nothing directly from the President condemning a video that next to no one would’ve ever seen had it not been for the media firefighters trying to make it into a national scandal. The video was tasteless and dumb — and the media have done their damnedest to make sure that it’s seen by as many people as possible.

So spare us, Jonathan. Please.

It’s tough out there for Real Journalists™.

Our hearts go out to Jonathan Karl et al. After all, it must be so frustrating to feel like someone with a lot of influence is trying to bury what should be a much bigger story.

Oh:

ABC News journos seem to be ignoring a lot of things lately …

ABC News’ totally honest mistake — which definitely wasn’t an attempt at deliberate deception — was a pretty egregious one. A Twitter “correction” seems pretty insufficient given the ramifications of what they did. What’s the holdup, Jonathan?

Total joke.

Maybe we’ll take Karl’s outrage seriously when he decides to start applying it to outrageous offenses by people and entities other than Donald Trump.
