As Twitchy told you, Vox Media Union is walking out today to protest what they say is insufficient pay for all the Very Important Work they do over there.
So, how’s this strategy working out for them so far?
Latest: Vox CEO @Bankoff tells employees he's "disappointed" by @vox_union walkout and, “While paying people a lot more than market wages sounds great on the surface, it’s not realistic or smart.” https://t.co/bPf0ZubEKt Says he wants "fair & highly competitive agreement quickly" https://t.co/CHLw462cxc

Say what, now?
BREAKING: “Vox CEO voxplains to Vox employees.” https://t.co/HqrUPuE4Jw

Well, somebody’s got to do the Voxsplaining around here.
BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHA
It is amazing how these ppl who push a socialist agenda never ever live by what they preach https://t.co/t5ETZ1rfZa

Well, why should they?
People need Vox tho
What am I supposed to do without my Vox https://t.co/uzqIT1KSue

Vox’s CEO clearly doesn’t need them.
We're behind you @Bankoff !!
Teach these commies a lesson and hire new incompetent commies straight outta journalism school

The CEO should just fire everyone and hire fresh graduates out of college… Save on starting them off with lower salaries too https://t.co/t5ETZ1rfZa

My advice for @Bankoff
1) Call @Pinkerton and send them into the Vox Union meeting
2) Move Vox to Detroit
3) Hire kids fresh from college, and from colleges other than UNC and Columbia and other commie factories
4) Make your journos write about news, not partisan bullshit
— Comfortably Smug (@ComfortablySmug) June 6, 2019
That would work, too.
Here’s the thing. Vox writers get paid to bash Republicans and praise Democrats. That’s it. Anybody can do that. ANYBODY. It’s not a unique or scarce job skill. Any recent lib arts grad can fill that position. The fact that they don’t realize this is gut-bustingly hilarious https://t.co/Jkj9fd6k20

And it will never stop being gut-bustingly hilarious. Even after they’re long gone.
The next part of this show is going to be sooooo good.
There's really only two possible scenarios:
1) Most, if not all, current writers get fired and replacements willing to take market wages are hired.
2) Mgmt folds and Vox has to close up shop in the next year or so. https://t.co/gk9ElKxoPF

But, lest you think we have no sympathy for Vox Media Union, here’s some parting advice for them:
Perhaps they can spend that day at the library, educating themselves on the ins and outs of modern computer scripting languages. https://t.co/yPW8d5fn9u
