Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s precious Green New Deal went down in flames in the Senate yesterday, thanks in no small part to the fact that zero Dems voted in favor of it. And yet, just like AOC, Chuck Schumer is trying to spin the GND’s defeat as a loss for Mitch McConnell and the GOP.
No, really:
Schumer says McConnell's vote on Green New Deal yesterday "backfired" & "boomeranged." Schumer says he's creating a Senate Dem cmte to address climate change. Says "we are not going to wait for Republicans..We are on offense"

Somebody get poor Chuck a dictionary … he seems to be misinformed about the meaning of “offense.”
Sooooo retreating on a vote is going on offense? https://t.co/NZmHoAjbn2

Offense is voting present I guess on your own bill
— George Brandner (@Cranesrooster) March 27, 2019
Nothing says "offense" like voting present on your own proposals.

Cosponsor a bill, then run away when it’s brought to the floor for a vote.

But…
You had the chance to vote in support of the GND yesterday, @chuckschumer.
How can you possibly claim to be "on offense" when this move is clearly defensive? https://t.co/GXVmJxBLX3

It’s an easy claim to make when you’re as desperate as the Dems are right now.
This is like the coach of a fball team getting blown out 47-0 and after the game saying it backfired on the other team. Is he really this dumb?
— Akiem "The Dream" Hicks❌ (@FireBoBahnsen) March 27, 2019
If he’s not, he does a damn good impression of a dumb person.
@SenSchumer does not live in the real world.

We’ll have what he’s having.
