As Twitchy told you earlier, GQ correspondent and real-life Grinch Julia Ioffe asked people to stop wishing her a Merry Christmas because she doesn’t celebrate it and is therefore apparently incapable of graciously accepting someone else’s warm wishes:
People, please stop wishing me a merry Christmas. It’s wonderful if you celebrate it, but I don’t and I don’t feel like explaining that to you either.
— Julia Ioffe (@juliaioffe) December 20, 2018
That’s fine, because we don’t feel like listening to your explanation.
Going to start wishing you all a happy new year in September and see if you’re merry or confused.
— Julia Ioffe (@juliaioffe) December 20, 2018
Because that’s totally the same thing.
Well anyway, actress Jane Lynch has some advice for Ioffe should she ever decide to put away the bitter victim card:

Seems reasonable to us.

This. 1000% this. I celebrate Hanukkah with my Jewish friends, and Christmas with family and other friends. It’s just rewarding to have good times with people regardless of their affiliation.

Nailed it in one simple image!

?Excellent – clear instructions that even Oscar the Grouch can follow.

Is this really so difficult for Julia Ioffe? Apparently it is:
(For the record, I always say "Thank you. You, too." But the omnipresence of Christmas for a whole month is deeply wearying and alienating to some of us who do not celebrate. If you want me respect you, please respect me, too.)
— Julia Ioffe (@juliaioffe) December 20, 2018
Sorry, Julia, but to get respect, you have to earn it.
