HuffPoster's anti-Chick-fil-A campaign takes a few meaty hits (from HuffPost, no less!) [pics]

As Twitchy told you last night, the HuffPost’s Noah Michelson tried to rehash the old Chick-fil-A “hate chicken” debate with an ultimatum for queer people and their allies:

The gist of his piece was that anyone who patronizes Chick-fil-A is enabling hate and “queerphobia.” Unfortunately for Michelson, Chick-fil-A’s actions speak louder than his words:

The HuffPost themselves covered that. This, too:

The very same. The weird part is that Michelson even acknowledges some of Chick-fil-A’s charitable work in his piece (though not without writing them off for it):

Am I saying Chick-fil-A and everyone who works for it is evil? Of course not. The corporation has done a lot of good and even donated food to volunteers giving blood in the wake of the Pulse nightclub massacre (though, ironically, most gay men weren’t allowed to participate in that charitable effort).  But none of its generosity changes the fact that the chain has taken and continues to take an anti-queer stance and still donates large sums of money to anti-queer groups.

… And literally no queer person has ever been denied service at a Chick-fil-A restaurant for being queer.

Michelson concludes:

Ultimately, if you’re going out of your way to find a reason to continue to patronize Chick-fil-A, you might want to examine why you need to expend so much energy to do so.

And if you’re going out of your way to punish franchisees and minimize all the positive contributions they and Chick-fil-A have made to communities around the country because the CEO — like many other Americans — believes in traditional marriage, you might want to examine why you need to expend so much energy to do so.
