Pro tip: When you’re putting together a panel to discuss the “normalizing” of racism and the importance of fighting back against bigotry, leave Al Sharpton out of it.
We thought that pretty much went without saying. And yet, MSNBC’s Ari Melber welcomed Al Sharpton to participate in a discussion about Roseanne Barr’s show getting canceled over her racist tweet about Valerie Jarrett:
"The danger of what we saw with Roseanne is the normalizing" of racism "at a high level" by "a defender" of Trump – @TheRevAl pic.twitter.com/3o1amnwkta

Well, let’s see … Al Sharpton is a raging racist bigot, and he had his own show on MSNBC for a while. We’d say that’s pretty “high level,” dontcha think?
"We didn't learn anything new about Roseanne" from her tweet, but "we learned our power if we resist" by ABC cancelling the show – @TheRevAl pic.twitter.com/P9RXvrYSzt

"The majority of the country" is still "opposed to this kind of bigotry" but "the majority starts looking like we're marginal" with Trump's election, and "we've got to demonstrate" at the polls, and "with our pocketbooks" that's not the case – @TheRevAl pic.twitter.com/vBO3PNS4G7

Are “white interlopers” allowed to demonstrate, too? What about Jews? Pin those yarmulkes back and go join Al Sharpton in the fight against Roseanne-style bigotry!
