More from the Washington Examiner:
President Trump announced on Thursday that his administration would impose tariffs on steel and aluminum imports next week, a move that would fulfill a key campaign promise to protect the U.S. from what he has said are unfair trade practices.
…
“We’ll be signing it next week. And you’ll have protection for a long time in a while,” Trump told U.S. steel and aluminum executives during a meeting at the White House on Thursday. “You’ll have to regrow your industries, that’s all I’m asking.”
He’s also asking Americans to pay a whole lot more for goods. Wonder why he didn’t mention that part …

That’s OK. We’re gonna need much stronger stuff than beer to deal with this crap anyway.
Glad I have no plans to buy a car for a while since Trump just increased the price.

Americans imported more than $29B in steel products last yr; billions more in aluminum. Imperiling their business? "A mess" https://t.co/pG4I0qkxtS

Stocks down over 300 points on @realDonaldTrump announcement of 25% steel tariff and 10% on aluminum. Tariffs are taxes on users, think cars, trucks, planes, cans etc. POTUS so good on taxes & regs, so bad on trade. https://t.co/mAYGzSZzUO

on one hand I’ll probably lose my job, a whole lot of Americans will lose their jobs, everything will cost more, and the economy will crater
on the other hand America needs a good hard lesson on what happens when you embrace national populism https://t.co/RNW38ov3HI
