Bravo for doing the obviously right thing.

As Twitchy told you last week, the University of Tennessee College of Law launched an investigation into Professor Glenn Reynolds, aka Instapundit, over his “Run them down” tweet regarding Charlotte rioters. Reynolds’ defenders argued that he wasn’t advocating violence but rather self-defense, and that he had a right to do so thanks to a little thing called the First Amendment.
Several days later, it appears the college agrees:
Today, Dean Melanie Wilson issued a statement about a professor's tweet: https://t.co/5oKTWevBqY

There. Was that so difficult, Dean Wilson?
Of course it was. The only "investigation" necessary was Googling "First Amendment." https://t.co/xeF5oqFszI

Heh.
Seriously, though. This should’ve been an open-and-shut case.
@UTKLaw why did it take that long
— boog (@frang8c) September 27, 2016
@jtLOL @UTKLaw It took them a few days to figure this out?

Congratulations, Professor.
I'm a bit surprised it took them so long, but when ever does a bureaucracy move quickly?

Because when political correctness and social justice run amok, common sense flies out the window.
Yay – I guess. Never should have been brought up in the first damn place

Still say no apology was necessary, anyone who took the tweet "wrong" had an agenda or was just plain silly.

.@UTKLaw The fact that there has to be a statement concerning free speech is deeply troubling.

@donsurber @UTKLaw Freedom of speech? Huh. Seems important — we should try it on a larger scale.
