The death of Westboro Baptist Church founder Fred Phelps prompted a lot of reaction, much of it along the lines of “good riddance.” But country singer Chely Wright, who grew up in Kansas and came out as a lesbian over three years ago, had a different perspective:

It seems the founder of Westboro Baptist Church, Fred Phelps, has died.
