It wasn’t just Tea Party groups that were targeted by the IRS; the agency also reportedly subjected pro-life groups to extra scrutiny. Life News reports that the IRS subjected one organization to “repeated and lengthy unconstitutional requests for information about the viewpoint and content of its educational communications, volunteer prayer vigils, and other protected activities.”
During today’s congressional hearing on the IRS scandal-fest, GOP Rep. Aaron Schock asked acting commissioner Steven Miller if the IRS had indeed asked a pro-life group about its prayers:
What! A religious org was asked by #IRS to detail its specific prayers?? Good question by Rep. Schock. #IRSscandal #irshearing

Rep. Schock now asking about pro life groups – says IRS asked them about content of "their prayers" #IRShearing

If this is true, it’s unconscionable. Just don’t expect Miller to concede that point:
Miller not sure if proper but concedes it is surprising to him that a pro life group was asked to recite the words to their prayers. #IRS

Miller doesn't know whether or not asking the content of ones prayers is appropriate for IRS. Says he would need "context" of question.

@FoxNews #IRS official wouldn't say letter asking pro-life group about content of prayers was inappropriate. Nope, no partisanship there.

Didn’t know if it was inappropriate? Really?
Unbelievable. And sickening.

The content of one's prayers? Good God. #IRS

The #IRS asked about the content of people's prayers? SRSLY? Warm fuzzies thinking of them in charge of Obamacare. #noshame

Imagine for a moment the arrogance of the IRS asking for the content of a groups prayers.

The IRS asked questions about the content of the prayers of the members to a pro-life group. Is this real life?
— Brittany (@bccover) May 17, 2013
It’s getting more and more difficult to tell.
The #IRS asked a pro-life group to disclose "the content of their prayers" is statism in a nutshell, folks.
— Jimmy (@JimmyPrinceton) May 17, 2013
Frightening.
The content of my Prayers are between God and I. They have nothing to do with the #IRS.

Amen.
