Too ethnic? Roland Martin out at CNN, says boss 'wants his own peeps'

First, they came for Soledad …

Earlier this year, “too ethnic” Soledad “Special Snowflake” O’Brien found herself a casualty of Jeff Zucker’s CNN revamp. Network contributor Roland Martin didn’t have much to say at the time, but now, it looks like he may be a little too ethnic as well.

Martin has been tweeting about his upcoming departure from CNN:

@angela_rye @goldietaylor @ZerlinaMaxwell @hartformemphis @TheReidReport @Janaye_Ingram My last day at @cnn party will be April 5 too! LOL

“@jenkin_ann: Roland I am really missing not hearing your view point on @CNN.” Sorry. Can't book myself. My last day at @cnn is April 6

I've been prevented from pursuing some of this stuff. But the shackles and straight jacket come off April 6. I'm ready to soar! #meinc

And when one of his followers asked why the shackles and straitjacket are coming off:

This was Martin’s response:

@CelebrityKarlos new boss wants his own peeps

Hmmm … wonder what that means? Some Twitterers have suspicions:

Does @CNN means "Caucasian News Network"..? @rolandsmartin @Soledad_OBrien

@CNN gentrification doesn't work for networks. @rolandsmartin and @Soledad_OBrien will land on their feet while you fall in ratings. #FCNN
