'Do I look suspicious?'

A group of Howard University students participated in this video to show solidarity with Trayvon Martin. Both Skittles and iced tea made appearances.

It seems that hoodies have become a symbol of racial oppression. And it’s unfortunate that the Trayvon Martin case is viewed by so many through a racial lens. These students meant well, but is their message truly effective? Are they helping to raise awareness about the event or minimizing it by framing it in strictly racial terms?
