As Twitchy told you, earlier this week, Linda Sarsour thought she had pro-lifers backed into a corner with this scorching-hot take on the Alabama anti-abortion bill:
I am trying to understand how you can be pro-life and pro-death penalty at the same time. ??
— Linda Sarsour (@lsarsour) May 15, 2019
It’s actually pretty easy to see the gaping holes in Sarsour’s argument, but NowThis has apparently figured out a way to miss them:
Just 24 hours after Alabama’s governor signed the nation’s most restrictive anti-abortion bill into law, the ‘pro-life’ state is scheduled to kill a man by lethal injection. pic.twitter.com/LqxtJetJXC
— NowThis (@nowthisnews) May 17, 2019
And your point would be … what, exactly? Because like Sarsour’s argument, NowThis’ attempted gotcha isn’t so much a gotcha as it is a logical faceplant.
Did the unborn babies also kill a man, a woman, and the woman's two young daughters? Because if not, I'm failing to see the comparison point. https://t.co/ZM6lGs8Ji7

At least the killer had received due process and had his day in court. Fetuses don't even get a public defender to advocate for them.

Alternate headline:
Alabama bans many forms of baby killing, and now is seeking to punish a man who murdered two children (6 and 7) along with their mother and her fiancee. https://t.co/YdHeFTd4Wn

He personally slit the throat of one of the two little girls.

Say their names, @nowthisnews
Say the names of Chelsea Nicole Hunt, Chelsea Marie Hunt, Dedra Hunt, and Randy Duke.
— Neil Stevens (@presjpolk) May 17, 2019
"This man killed 4 people and got the death sentence, let's compare this to killing innocent babies and rake up them retweets"
— Wittorical (@Wittorical) May 17, 2019
NowThis, you are embarrassing yourself defending a quadruple murderer. The two are connected only in your mind.
— Art Berkowitz (@artbcpa) May 17, 2019
Because these are totally the same thing……. pic.twitter.com/iHXmuDlOUb
— TakeItSleezy (@SalvinY84) May 17, 2019
No distinction at all between innocent babies and guilty convicts.
— Razor (@hale_razor) May 17, 2019
Let me say it slowly:
1 is guilty.
1 is innocent. Now, one more time:
1 is guilty.
1 is innocent.Repeat.
It’ll make sense eventually.
— No Apologies Allowed (@NAAWeeklyComics) May 17, 2019
I don't agree with the abortion law. At all.
That said. A clearly convicted killer getting executed? Do it
— Densuo el Salado (@Densuo) May 17, 2019
I'm heavily against the death penalty, but I'm also not dumb enough to think there's total equivalence between the two.
— Victoria T. (@desertskulls) May 17, 2019
Try again….?♂️
— Mike Labuguen (@MikeLabuguen) May 17, 2019
That isn't comparable. Don't even try
— Juan (@LFC_JuanB) May 17, 2019
You’re really choosing this as a comparison?
— Spike (@olddaddy123) May 17, 2019
— RN (@trueststars) May 17, 2019
This might be the dumbest comparison I have ever seen!
— Jerry B (@bloxman1) May 17, 2019
Being conceived is on par with killing two adults and two children? Please explain the hypocrisy
— KD6-3.7 (@ShaneeMc) May 17, 2019
The real hypocrisy is on the part of radical pro-aborts like those at NowThis.
i dont support the death sentence.
But i dont see how the same people attempting to justify the murder of unborn children can so casually make the case that giving the death sentence to criminals, who perpetrate the most heinous crimes, is cruel/unjust.
Incredible hypocrisy
