Earlier this week, Jonah Goldberg posed a question to his Twitter followers:
Re-asking a question I've been posing for three years: Please come up with a definition of good character that Donald Trump can clear.
— Jonah Goldberg (@JonahNRO) August 15, 2018
Based on many of the responses he got from Trump supporters or defenders, Goldberg offered up this assessment:
This is easily the most triggering question you can ask of Trumpist snowflakes. https://t.co/zUzMiBe8Yg
— Jonah Goldberg (@JonahNRO) August 16, 2018
Not an unreasonable assessment in light of this:
Huge uptick in hate email over last day or so. Apparently speaking ill of the president’s character justifies, among other things, sexualizing my daughter and blaming me for my dead brother. Strikes me as an ironic/odd way to defend the president’s character. But what do I know?
— Jonah Goldberg (@JonahNRO) August 16, 2018
Ugh.
That sucks. Hang in there. On a positive note, the replies to this tweet are giving me a new group of people to block.

Well anyway, David Horowitz was certainly triggered by Goldberg’s suggestion that Donald Trump is not a man of good character:
He has an amazing family. He's loyal to a fault. He loves the country that gave him a privileged life, He works around the clock for ordinary Americans, & their security. He would never appoint a treacherous individual to head the CIA. Wake up Jonah. Its a war & u cant be neutral. https://t.co/52J1etR9cz

Needless to say, Goldberg wasn’t convinced by Horowitz’s argument:
This is total nonsense David. He’s not loyal to a fault. He’s not loyal to his wives. Read up on how he treated Roy Cohn ffs. He doesn’t work around the clock. He won’t read and won’t stop watching TV. I can’t tell if your head is up your ass or his. https://t.co/IzeE8FIrPs

Oof.
I'll never forgive Trump for how he mistreated….. Roy Cohn? https://t.co/LryIrnIHof

The point is he talked a huge game about how loyal Roy Cohn was and then abandoned him like a leper when he got AIDS.
— Jonah Goldberg (@JonahNRO) August 16, 2018
Not exactly a mark of loyalty to a fault, is it?
Yup. He’s not a good husband. Not a great dad. Feel free to @ me. Helps to know who to mute or block. https://t.co/VGRZKaFe9J

This is what denial looks like. https://t.co/JHALrMKt3l
— David Horowitz (@horowitz39) August 16, 2018
Actual, denial looks a lot more like defending behavior that you’d decry if Donald Trump had a (D) after his name, all in the name of “war.”

Fair point. Everyone must choose which lies to believe and peddle because WAR!
