Catherine Herridge dropped a stack of declassified records Monday that put a name on an FBI effort a lot of people already suspected was running hot.
An administration official called the Jack Smith team’s methods intrusive. A former senior agent described the pattern as a classic tickle-the-wire move: contact the target, then watch who she calls next. The records also tie the surveillance to the groundwork for the classified-documents case.
The probe was labeled PLASMIC ECHO...

But wait, there's more.
Trump Probe: Approval Came From The TOP - FBI, Biden DOJ Leadership - Then FBI Director Wray Initials memo, Deputy AG Lisa Monaco initials, with note to then Attorney General Garland: "Merrick, I recommend you approve, Lisa 3/25/22" While memo is heavily redacted, it reads in part: "Although members of the 45th Presidential administration are no longer in office, the DOJ Memo states that the scope of this policy should be broadly construed to ensure that Department leadership is made aware of the opening of matters that could potentially be disruptive to the democratic process if publicly disclosed prior to an election...." Jack Smith’s team did not need a smoking gun.
They needed a phone bill.
A pen register let them map who Susie Wiles called, then widen the net to lawyers, reporters, advisers, and the first lady while the documents case was still being built.
Pretty dirty, right?
That is not subtle police work. That is Smith poking the hive and writing down who flew out. The records are public now and the “trust us” routine is not aging well.
