NBC10 Boston commentator Sue O’Connell — the one who keeps reminding everyone she is not a reporter — is now explaining why her exclusive sit-down with three Lindsay Clancy jurors looked less like journalism and more like stage direction.
Someone should tell her if she's explaining she's losing.
Ahem.
It all started here:
WTF???!!! This is insane! NBC made Lindsay Clancy juror Kellie Farina re-answer a question - but they left her initial response in the video! This is at the 32:08 mark in the interview, watch:

Interviewer: "Do you think that she should be re-tried?"
Farina: "I would like to… pic.twitter.com/pq3yuGVCQV

... Farina: see her be re-tried, absolutely."
Then the interviewer looks off screen and gestures to someone.
Was that a signal to edit that part out because they didn't like her answer? Then she stumbles through asking the EXACT same question!
Interviewer: "You think, you think, you would like she should be re- re-tried?"
Then they cut to another camera shot for Farina to re-answer the question.
Farina: "I would like him NOT to re-try her."
What is this? They didn't even edit out Farina's initial answer which was that she WOULD like Lindsay to be re-tried! In the span of 10 seconds, you can watch Farina basically say "yes" and "no" to literally the same question.
How can we believe anything these jurors say? If a juror answers a question in a way the media doesn't like they make them re-do the question with a different answer? How many other times has this happened? Fake. News. What a disgrace...

Disgrace is putting it nicely.
Classic: @SueOC_NBCBoston is not interviewing the three jurors, she is directing them for @NBC10Boston . https://t.co/oJpMFeNDlh

Sue got very defensive over this one:
Good morning @JohnDePetroshow.
— Sue O'Connell: COMMENTATOR, not a reporter (@SueOC_NBCBoston) September 15, 2026
I expected one juror and when I arrived there were three. Because we expected just one, I had only one photographer and two cameras: one hand-operated for isolated shots of each person answering, and one stationary on the group.
So yes, I directed… https://t.co/kWgu52z0vs

... traffic: wait, go, start from the top, you first. That's what happens when three real people, not media pros, talk over each other, one photographer has to move between them. This interview was going to run as news segments, social clips, and in full, so I had to keep that in mind.
None of this is unusual. Technical hiccups and shooting conditions routinely mean reading-asking a question. Sometimes people sneeze, or a bug lands on them. The sun (actually, the earth) was moving on us the whole time, and I was concerned we’d have to stop down to adjust the lighting.
I managed the timing but I never changed a word of the content. If the subject restated an answer you can see it right there on the complete interview. If you’d like to come with me on my next interview shoot let me know!
Why so defensive, Sue?
