'Didn't even BOTHER to contact him': Sean Davis rips ABC's Alex Mallin a NEW one for bogus piece on Rep. John Radcliffe

And traditional media wonder why nobody trusts them anymore.

Hrm.

ABC’s Alex Mallin shared a piece calling into question Rep. John Radcliffe’s link to an anti-terrorism financing case which he has apparently used as a key credential in being picked for Trump’s intelligence director.

From ABCNews.Go.com:

President Donald Trump’s pick for the next director of national intelligence, Rep. John Ratcliffe, R-Texas, has misrepresented his role in an anti-terrorism case that he’s repeatedly cited among his credentials related to national security issues.

The apparent embellishment is related to two anti-terrorism financing trials in a case known as the U.S. v. Holy Land Foundation, the second of which resulted in convictions for several individuals found to have illegally funneled charity money to the U.S.-designated terrorist group Hamas.

And gosh, this would indeed be a big deal … if it were true. But it doesn’t sound like it is.

Sean Davis called Mallin out:

Pretty bad look indeed but if we’re being honest, we’re hardly surprised. The major outlets are far more concerned with dunking on Trump than they are in getting the story right.

From The Federalist:

A former federal prosecutor involved in the terrorism financing trial against the Holy Land Foundation confirmed to The Federalist today that Rep. John Ratcliffe, R-Texas, whom President Donald Trump has said he intends to nominate as director of national intelligence, did receive a special appointment as part of the case.

“John was appointed to look into allegations of potential misconduct involving a juror and one or more of the defendants in that case,” Nathan Garrett, a formal federal prosecutor who worked on the trial team, told The Federalist Tuesday morning. “John is a stellar lawyer, experienced national security prosecutor and leader, and a man of the highest character.”

Not good, ABC. Not good at all.

So bad.

Not seeing anything yet.

Probably not.
