If you find yourself comparing anyone and/or any group to Jews fleeing Germany you should immediately put the Twitter down and go sit in the corner … there is no good time or place to exploit the Holocaust for your argument.
Even if you’re Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, and especially if you don’t know your history.
Asking to be considered a refugee & applying for status isn’t a crime.
It wasn’t for Jewish families fleeing Germany.
It wasn’t for targeted families fleeing Rwanda.
It wasn’t for communities fleeing war-torn Syria.
And it isn’t for those fleeing violence in Central America. https://t.co/qhv7Rr1itn— Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (@Ocasio2018) November 25, 2018
Full. Stop.
You don't know U.S. history, Rep, Ocasio-Cortez. The U.S. turned away thousands of Jewish refugees in WWII, ostensibly fearing there were Nazi spies among them. E..g, in June 1939, 937 were turned away at the port of Miami. More than one quarter of them died in the Holocaust.

Hey, don’t you oppress her with facts and stuff.
The US had no refugee policy during the Nazi period in Germany. Sadly, Jewish refugees had to go through a long and deliberately slow immigration process.

Whoops.
Hey, imbecile, no one said applying for asylum is a crime. What is a crime is entering a country illegally and not presenting yourself at a legal port of entry.

Something like that.
Oh, and then Alexandria deliberately conflated illegal immigrants with legal immigrants – it is the Democrat way ya’ know:
America’s immigrant and refugee communities prove over and over again that the impossible can be made possible.
They are an enormous share of small business owners, Nobel Prize winners, artists, + more. Many came w/ hardship.
When America denies immigrants, we deny ourselves. https://t.co/mJWRObz1IB

Nobody is denying immigrants, Alexandria.
You know that face you make when you’re watching Jeopardy and you have the answer right before any of the contestants and it feels like it takes forever for that little beeper thingie to go off? Just made that face.
America does not deny immigrants. There is a process to become a citizen. You follow the law you get in

"They are an enormous share of small business owners, Nobel Prize winners, artists…"
I don't see anyone even carrying tools in this mass of invaders. If you have the names of these potential Nobel prize winners, please point them out.

Oh FFS – and we made fun of Neil for this one.
What do you want to bet someone, somewhere said, ‘Hey guys, like Einstein was a refugee too, man’?
Heh.
No one is against legal immigration
Illegal immigration is harmful to us.

It’s just that simple.
