Remember when CNN’s Chris Cillizza tried to tell everyone that journalists don’t take sides politically?

Good times.

Past presidents and presidential candidates have seen the polarization of the country as a problem they had to address.

Trump, from the minute he became a candidate, saw it as an opportunity he could exploit.
