A briefing was held at the Justice Department in Washington, DC with Attorney General Jeff Sessions, FBI Director Christopher Wray and others. During the briefing, FBI Director Wray explained what specifically led authorities to arrest and charge Cesar Sayoc with sending the packages:

Wray also said that authorities also made a DNA connection:
