A contractor reportedly working for the National Security council was arrested at the White House security checkpoint on Tuesday on an outstanding warrant for attempted murder:

The man was later identified as Martese Edwards, 29:
The man is identified as Martese Maurice Edwards, 29, of Suitland, Maryland. A federal law enforcement official says Edwards did work for the National Security Council in the Old Executive Office Building next to the White House – @PeteWilliamsNBC reports

Prince George's Co. Police spokeswoman says shooting was on May 3. Martese Edwards ID'd as suspect by detectives on May 17 and warrant issued that day.
