If you’re still up and on Twitter, you’ll notice “Brian Williams” is trending, which is never a good sign. Here’s why: He accidentally referred to President Trump as President Obama during his anchoring duties, and of course, Twitter noticed:
Brian Williams just said "we're cutting to President Obama" and my heart skipped a beat.
Dammit.
Guess he just has trouble putting the word before "Trump," too.

It hurt my heart to hear Brian Williams say this, but on some level, it hurt even more that he didn't realize he'd made that mistake. Even now, I think we're all in a certain sense of denial. So much has been broken.
