Bianca Knight cheered on by her high school as she grabs gold medal

At just 23 years old, it wasn’t too long ago that Bianca Knight was a student at Ridgeland High School in Ridgeland, Mississippi. Today, she did her hometown proud and served as a great role model for the RHS student body. Knight was part of the four-woman team that broke the women’s 4×100-meter relay world record and helped keep the U.S. at number one in the Olympic medal count.

We can only imagine the cheers that erupted in Ridgeland when Knight and Allyson Felix, Tianna Madison, and Carmelita Jeter finished the race as gold medalists. Judging from Knight’s tweets, she’s been doing a little cheering of her own:
