Nothing like waiting until the last minute. Just hours before Irish boxer Paddy Barnes was scheduled to enter the ring for the light-flyweight semi-final, his father, also named Paddy, revealed that he didn’t have a ticket.

Barnes won’t be taking home the gold, but at least his dad got to see him fight.

Barnes also won a bronze in Beijing and will be the first Irish boxer to take home medals at consecutive Olympic games.
