Following the Washington Post’s report that Donald Trump revealed classified information to Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and Ambassador Sergey Kislyak, Trump’s NatSec Adviser H.R. McMaster addressed the media:

McMaster: The story that came out tonight, as reported, is false

So … mystery solved? Depends on whom you ask.
So, McMaster held a press conference just to repeat what he already told Wapo & refuse to take any questions? What does that accomplish?

McMaster did NOT say no highly classified information was shared with the Russians. Full stop.

This is not unclear unless you wish it to be:

Does not say what part of the story is false https://t.co/DOB1GsAecb
— John McCormack (@McCormackJohn) May 15, 2017
“as reported” doesn’t mean that the story is false
“as reported” sounds like a major aspect is true, just that the wapo didn’t get it right
— Tyler McNally (@Tyler_McNally) May 15, 2017
The story didn't claim "sources and methods" were discussed, nor did they claim military operations were discussed w/Russians.
— Drew McCoy (@_Drew_McCoy_) May 15, 2017
McMaster keeps denying something no one reporting (that methods or sources were discussed), which makes it easier to believe actual report.
— (((AG))) (@AG_Conservative) May 15, 2017
McMaster didn't put the story to rest and by going public, WaPo's anon intel sources have done even more harm if there's any truth to it

I'm not questioning his integrity. I'm questioning what he didn't say and what he left out. https://t.co/WHbnsKwW68

Very possible McMaster is looking to contain damage to Nat Security, not damage to Trump. A 60 sec statement w/no qs is not dispositive.
— Jonah Goldberg (@JonahDispatch) May 15, 2017
This story may not be going anywhere for a little bit.
