Constitutionally, the 2nd Amendment gives Americans the right to bear arms. Actor Jason Alexander, however, says supporters of it are not “true patriots.” He wrote a lengthy commentary stating as much.
I'd like to preface this long tweet by saying that my passion comes from my deepest sympathy and shared sorrow (cont) http://t.co/Hli8h2Tw

Correction all: the 100,000 guns deaths should be 100,000 incidents of death or injury with guns per annum. My bad. Number still sucks.

Anti-gun activists gave their unwavering support to Alexander’s comments.

@IJasonAlexander still waiting for "gun rights" advocates to name just one good consequence of allowing private assault weapons in 2004

@ChuckMoneyMaker @ijasonalexander it saddens me, that America would fight for that mans right to own that weapon, but against medicare.

Piers Morgan eagerly gave his support of Alexander’s statement.
I urge everyone to read the long tweet from @IJasonAlexander that I just retweeted. A brilliant commentary on guns in America. #Colorado

Conservatives reminded Alexander that regardless of what he thinks, the right to bear arms is stated in the Constitution.
@IJasonAlexander In 1776 the founders said we had the right to bear arms. The arms they knew were MUSKETS. I'm OK w/muskets in every home.
