It was initially reported that Iran released four U.S. citizens who were being held in that country at the same time a plane carrying $400 million in cash arrived. The White House continues to insist it wasn’t a ransom payment, but they have admitted that the actual amount of cash delivered in foreign currency was just a little higher than $400 million:
