As we told you on Sunday, NYC Mayor Bill de Blasio is under fire over a joke he made suggesting the reason he was so late in endorsing Hillary Clinton was that he was operating on “CP time.” CP time is short for “colored peoples time” and is considered by many to be offensive. The punchline of the joke, if you can call it a joke, was that Hillary Clinton said “CP time” really stood for “cautious politician time.”
De Blasio defended himself on CNN last night saying Hillary Clinton and African-American actor Leslie Odom Jr. were in on the joke and we’re the ones taking it out of context:
