“Assisted dying” does have slightly cheerier and more compassionate ring to it that those other options. For just that reason, Mollie Hemingway, senior editor of The Federalist, asks that impartial journalists not use the term.
"Assisted dying" is a euphemism for killing someone. Journalists not interested in advocacy for such killings should not use.
