Police cruiser outside of Boston reportedly shot at, catches fire after hitting tree; Update: No injuries reported; Officer returned fire; Photos of burned-out car released

Early reports say that a police cruiser in Millis, Mass., southwest of Boston, was shot at today, taking two bullets and eventually catching fire, according to the MetroWest Daily News. There are no reports of any injuries at this time.

Police are searching for two white men in a dark maroon Chevrolet extended cab pickup or van, according to radio reports.

The library in Millis was closed in response and all afternoon and evening activities canceled until more is known about the shooting.

Update: Police are now saying that the officer involved returned fire at the suspect.

CBS Boston confirms that the officer wasn’t injured but was transported to the hospital as a precaution.
