Sesame Street's move to HBO makes grown-ups sad; Announcement 'viscerally hurt my soul'

Mitt Romney, the candidate who was just too out of touch to be president, proved to be prescient once again as news broke that the next five seasons of “Sesame Street” would premiere on HBO and eventually move to PBS. In other words, Big Bird didn’t need public funding to survive. Ah, the memories.

One of the things “Sesame Street” always claimed to do was teach children how to accept and deal with their feelings. Those children have grown up, and today many find themselves sad and disappointed; especially liberals, who are especially adept at being sad and disappointed.
