Photos, evacuation updates flood Twitter as #WaldoCanyonFire spreads west of Colorado Springs

Firefighters near Colorado Springs, Colo., are battling a 2,000 acre blaze that began in Waldo Canyon Saturday. A media briefing was held just after 5:30 p.m. MDT:

Garden of the Gods and Pikes Peak are closed, and both mandatory and voluntary evacuations are underway in nearby areas.

The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office is providing evacuation updates on Twitter at @EPCSheriff using the hashtag #WaldoCanyonFire.
