'Why does he bother?' Even conservatives find Rick Santorum candidacy a hard sell

Col. Kurt Schlichter, Townhall columnist, author of four bestselling ebooks and all-around caring person isn’t waiting to hear Rick Santorum’s speech this afternoon announcing that he’s running for president to weigh in with his non-endorsement of the socially conservative GOP candidate.

ABC News anchor/Clinton Foundation contributor George Stephanopoulos was happy to grant an interview to Santorum.

Somebody cares. Santorum’s official announcement, made in his hometown of Cabot, Pennsylvania, was actually well attended, as reported by Salena Zito of the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review. Hillary Clinton might have put on her phony southern twang today, but Santorum’s event was pure Pittsburgh.

Not a bad crowd, but will Santorum ever be taken seriously by the “cool kids” if even conservatives wonder why he’s running?
