Cop-killer mural update: Marquette University's Assata Shakur tribute 'is being removed immediately'

As Twitchy told you yesterday, Marquette University students erected a mural honoring convicted cop-killer and fugitive Assata Shakur.

Tonight, the school announced that the mural will be removed and “appropriate action” taken.

Full statement:

Our university’s senior leadership just became aware of a mural that was created and displayed in a remote area of campus. This is extremely disappointing as the mural does not reflect the Guiding Values of Marquette University. It is being removed immediately. We are reviewing the circumstances surrounding the mural and will take appropriate action.

We’re glad to know the “Guiding Values” at Marquette no longer include glorifying a blood-stained, lawless domestic terrorist.

Now, when will Marquette restore intellectual diversity and protection of dissenting ideas as one of its “Guiding Values?”
