Politico’s Glenn Thrush ponders the fate of a Republican who would credit President Obama’s policies for positive economic news:

What would happen to a GOPer who said, for instance, that Obama had a tiny bit to do with these employment gains? Why is that impermissible?

Bask in the assumption that actions Obama has taken in office have helped instead of hindered the economy, and GOPers can’t admit that because they’d pay a political price within their own party.

Well, Obama does seem to have a hand in coaxing some in the press to help keep the straw man gainfully employed, so we’ve got that going for us.
