Media are reporting that beloved “Star Trek” actor Leonard Nimoy is in the hospital after suffering from chest pains last week.

The “Star Trek” actor was taken to UCLA Medical Center on Thursday for “severe chest pains,” law enforcement sources told TMZ. Nimoy was taken to the hospital after a 911 call was placed on his behalf.

Reports of Nimoy’s medical scare come a year after the 83-year-old star revealed that he had been diagnosed with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.
“I quit smoking 30 yrs ago. Not soon enough. I have COPD. Grandpa says, quit now!” he announced in a Jan. 2014 tweet.
