Last month, Rolling Stone updated a previous story with an editor’s note apologizing for the quality of its reporting about an alleged gang-rape occurring at the University of Virginia.
A police investigation “has not revealed any substantive basis to confirm” the allegation and the fraternity at the center of the controversy has been reinstated:
