Ray Allen first to arrive at Boston Celtics shoot-around

Ray Allen was the first Celtic to arrive at the team’s shoot-around in preparation for Game 2 of the Eastern Conference Finals tonight against the Miami Heat.

That’s nice, but is it surprising? The NBA’s all-time leader in 3-pointers made has declined in form this season and was pretty terrible against the Heat in Game 1. He played almost 39 minutes yet only scored six points on 1-7 shooting. This is against a Miami team that all season has clogged the middle on defense yet gives up the shot from the outside.

He’s scored 20.0 points per game in his career, shot 45-percent from the field and 89-percent from the free throw line but in the playoffs this year he’s down to 9.6 points per game on 39-percent shooting while shooting a terrible 60-percent from the charity stripe. And the only reason he’s even starting is because Avery Bradley injured his shoulder.

Looks like Jesus Shuttlesworth is getting shut down.
