Hillary Clinton spent Friday doing what Hillary Clinton does best when the news cycle forgets about her: hunting for a reason to remind everyone she is still mad about 2016.
The vehicle this time was a tidy little collage of gloomy headlines about the economy under the man who beat her. One about a soft September jobs number.
One about a think-tank model fretting over energy costs years from now. Nothing new, nothing she had to research, nothing that required her to explain why her own party’s last few turns in the White House did not produce the paradise she keeps promising. Just two screenshots, a sour caption, and the faint sound of someone still rehearsing the concession speech in the mirror. This is the pattern.

When the country moves on, Clinton does not. She lurks at the edge of the timeline, waiting for any data point that can be cropped into proof that the wrong person is in charge and that history made a clerical error. The private server, the deleted emails, the foundation, the “what difference does it make” shrug — none of it ever quite settled into the past for her, so neither did the election. Every disappointing headline becomes a second chance to litigate it.
There is a particular bitterness to the routine now. She is not running. She is not advising anyone who is winning. She is a former Secretary of State and a two-time loser posting screenshots who still cannot believe ignoring Wisconsin was a bad idea.
