The Silicon Valley Democrat framed America’s roughly 989 billionaires as holding a bigger slice of GDP than the Gilded Age robber barons, which is a bold lecture from a man whose own household disclosures put family assets somewhere between $69 million and $167 million, with eleven holdings so open-ended the real number could sit even higher.

That fortune, largely his wife’s family’s Ohio auto-parts money parked in trusts that traded as much as $165 million in 2025, has already bought an 8,000-square-foot D.C. house with a four-story elevator and marble laundry rooms, now on the market so the family can move into a custom place in Northern Virginia estimated around $9 million.

989 billionaires are now worth 22% of our GDP.
