Bill de Blasio showed up on CNN NewsNight still auditioning for the role of America’s most confident wrong person, and Scott Jennings was happy to help him lock it in.

While the former mayor pressed the case for Congress to yank the plug on pressure against Iran, Jennings pointed out the awkward little details: tankers are still moving, Tehran looks wobbly, and the Democratic instinct remains to declare the whole thing a disaster right as the other side starts blinking.

In other words, Democrats desperately need Trump to lose in Iran for upcoming midterms. This isn't about what is good for America or even the world. This is all about what is good for Democrats.

Heck, Iran endorsed Democrats just yesterday.
