WI Gubernatorial Candidate Stands With To-Be-Deported President of Islamic Society of Milwaukee

An immigration judge has ruled that Salah Sarsour, president of the Islamic Society of Milwaukee, can be deported for lying on his green card application.

Wisconsin Public Radio reports:

The U.S. Department of Homeland Security has accused Sarsour of lying on his immigration forms in order to obtain his green card. A spokesperson for the U.S. Department of Homeland Security has called him a “terrorist who was convicted of throwing Molotov cocktails at the homes of Israeli armed forces.”

But his legal team and supporters say he was detained because of his pro-Palestinian advocacy. During his first deportation hearing in July, his legal team maintained that the federal government has known about his conviction for years and that he was being targeted now due to his pro-Palestinian activism.

Unfortunately, as in the similar case of Mahmoud Khalil, Sarsour's deportation will likely be held up for months, if not years, due to appeals.

David Crowley, who's running to be Wisconsin's next governor, calls Sarsour a neighbor and says he stands by him against the Trump administration.

The post continues:

… his 1st amendment right. I stood with Salah in April and I stand with him now, because if the government can come after someone for what they believe, it can come after any of us. Tom Tiffany has chosen to stand with Trump every step of the way, and as governor, I'll stand with the people of Wisconsin.

Which is it, Sarsour, or the people of Wisconsin?

He's not here legally if he lied on his green card application, and as far as his criminal record in this country:

The comments section is not looking good for Crowley.
