Renee Good's Attorney Says She Was Just Driving Home When Her Drive Was 'Interrupted' by ICE Agents

In breaking news, the family of Renee Good, the woman shot and killed by an ICE agent in Minneapolis in January as she accelerated her car at him, is filing suit against the United States government, ICE agents, and other Trump administration officials. We're surprised a lawsuit wasn't filed earlier, but the family says "the time is absolutely now for accountability."

The Associated Press reports:

Renee Good’s family sued the U.S. government and the architects of President Donald Trump’s immigration crackdown Thursday, saying “the time is absolutely now for accountability” for her killing in January by a federal agent in Minneapolis.

Good’s partner, Becca Good, and her brother Brent Ganger on behalf of her larger family, accused the government and Jonathan Ross, the Immigration and Customs Enforcement officer who shot into her SUV and killed her, of unjustified and excessive use of force.

The Jan. 7 shooting, captured on bystander video, was “the predictable and intended product” of the Trump administration’s crackdown on Somali and other immigrants in Minnesota dubbed Operation Metro Surge, according to one of the two lawsuits.

The shooting was captured at several angles by several bystanders, as well as on ICE body cameras. So was Good's choice to step on the accelerator.

According to the family's attorney, Good and her wife, Becca, were just returning home from dropping their kids off at school when their peaceful drive was "interrupted" by armed, masked federal agents. To us, it looks like an active ICE enforcement operation was interrupted by a woman who deliberately drove her SUV into the middle of the road to "interrupt" ICE doing its job.

That's interesting, because even her son's school community said that she had received "noncooperation training" from the Minneapolis "ICE Watch" activist network.

She was just driving home when she was interrupted.

Lies! The Honda Pilot weighs only around 4,500 lbs.

We often wonder whose detention Good was trying to interfere with. ICE agents could have been moving in to arrest a murderer or a child rapist, but Good was intent on impeding the operation. Her attorney makes it sound like federal agents had blockaded her way home and waved her into the middle of an active operation.
