‘You’re Welcome, America’: Newsom Signs EO Protecting AI From Being Renamed by Trump

As we reported earlier this week, Gov. Gavin Newsom was trolled by First Assistant District Attorney Bill Essayli after his press office announced that he'd signed 21 new bills, including bans on the use of flash grenades and shock gloves by ICE agents and other law enforcement officers. "Or what? You’re going to write us a ticket?" replied Essayli.

There doesn't seem to be any issue that Newsom won't tackle, no matter how trivial, if he thinks he can stick it to President Donald Trump or his administration. Earlier this week, Trump, who has a knack for triggering people by renaming things, said he was going to sign an executive order renaming artificial intelligence "super intelligence," after suggesting several other options.

The post continues:

… intelligence. It's supreme also intelligence. But the word super is the best word of all and it's the simplest.

Aaron Rupar homunculus Acyn posted that clip on Tuesday. By Wednesday, Newsom was basking in the gratitude of all of the nation by signing an executive order that would have the State of California permanently term artificial intelligence "artificial intelligence," or AI.

He even posted the executive order to prove it was real.

It's a wonder tech startups and billionaires are moving out of California.

No need to thank him, America — he already said, "You're welcome."
