Had Him DEAD to Rights: John Kennedy SO Owned Jack Smith That Dick Durbin Tried SAVING Him and WOOF

Senate hearings don’t usually come with this much personality, but Tuesday’s Judiciary Committee session delivered.

Move over daytime drama, make way for the GOVERNMENT.

While former special counsel Jack Smith sat in the hot seat over his Trump investigations, Louisiana’s Sen. John Kennedy pressed him with that unmistakable mix of folksy sarcasm and blunt skepticism — until Illinois Sen. Dick Durbin stepped in to lecture him on courtesy and letting the witness finish a thought.

Kennedy didn’t miss a beat, because of course he didn't.

He answered the ranking Democrat with the kind of polite-but-pointed Southern pushback that instantly turned a tense exchange into must-watch Senate theater, and the clip has been flying around ever since.

Senator John Kennedy just took a full minute to EXPOSE former special counsel Jack Smith’s alleged Democrat connections.

Smith was squirming throughout the entire exchange and REFUSED to answer a single question.

Kennedy had him dead to rights, and he knew it.

... KENNEDY: “When President Trump defeated Secretary Clinton, you were bitterly disappointed, weren’t you?”
SMITH: “Uhhh…I don’t recall that…”
KENNEDY: “You don’t recall at all? Mrs. Smith was, wasn’t she?”
SMITH: “I’m uhhh…I’m not going to talk about my family…”
KENNEDY: “Your spouse, it’s certainly her right, I’m not being critical, is an ardent supporter of President and First Lady Obama, is that right?”
SMITH: “I’m not going to talk about my family here today. I’m here to talk about my work as special counsel.”
KENNEDY: “In fact, she made a glowing documentary about First Lady Obama, didn’t she? That she sold it to Netflix?”[Pause]
SMITH: “I’m not going to speak about my family here today…”This is important because Smith’s entire defense has been that he was acting as a nonpartisan special counsel and prosecuting President Trump strictly based on the facts and the law.Kennedy was putting that claim directly under the microscope.
And Smith refused to answer.

And that's when Little Dickie Durbin jumped in to save Smith ... that didn't go so hot, either.
