On Friday, Rep. Ro Khanna not only called for the release of terrorist Marwan Bhargouti from an Israeli prison, but he also laid out his vision where Bhargouti becomes the leader of the Palestinians, delivering "a Palestinian state that could live in peace with Israel." Khanna says that all Palestinians see Bhargouti as non-corrupt, a strong leader, and secular, and that he has their backing. Khanna does touch upon Bhargouti's murder of five people, saying that his release doesn't give him moral absolution for the "crimes he may have committed."
May have committed? I guess Khanna is going with the claim by "a number of human rights groups" that claim Bhargouti didn't receive a fair trial.
