This is really sick. As we're coming up on the 25th anniversary of 9/11, we're also approaching the first anniversary of the assassination of Charlie Kirk. A lecturer at UC Irvine who also "teaches composition courses on protest movements and campus activism" at Chapman University, learning that independent journalist Nick Shirley was speaking at Harvard, posted that "someone can do the funniest thing just before the Kirkiversary."

Harvard students should not have to wonder whether a university lecturer is cheering on violence against a speaker invited by their classmates. Nor should students at Chapman or UC Irvine have to wonder whether an instructor responsible for evaluating their work regards violence against their political opponents as something to be celebrated.

This guy is certainly not the only one looking to celebrate "Kirkiversary," but someone could do the "funniest thing" to Shirley.
Free speech? Kirk was engaging in free speech when he was shot in the throat on a college campus. A college campus isn't a safe place to be if you're a conservative. For clowns like Matthew Goldman, it's the perfect place to indulge his very worst impulses.
