After James Talarico's campaign started seeing videos surfacing about the Democrat Senate candidate in Texas saying capitalism is oppressive and linked to white supremacy combined with his embrace of veganism, they got to work. The attempt to turn Talarico into something he isn't couldn't be more obvious and cringe-worthy, but they're still moving forward with the effort.
Talarico's people clearly came to understand that supporters saying this about him wasn't going to move the Texas needle in his direction:
CRINGE

Texas Dems have lost their minds defending James Talarico:
“They say that James is trans, we’re all trans. When they say James is gay tofu eating vegan, we’re all gay tofu eating vegans! And when they say James is going to hell, we’ll say we’re all going to hell!” pic.twitter.com/BGcqc0ELPM
As a result of that level of cringe, Talarico's efforts to prove his "real Texan" cred have included renting a truck for an ad on television, and now we get this totally authentic visit to a Cracker Barrel.
lol. They photographed Talarico walking into a Cracker Barrel https://t.co/M1t4GVkx0z

Talarico, in a quest to show he’s a true Texan, posts photos of himself walking into a restaurant chain that started in Tennessee. https://t.co/M1t4GVkx0z

That could be another take on a popular meme: "Hello, fellow Cracker Barrel lovers!"
Maybe Talarico knows that pretending to love eating meat hasn't been resonating.

Time for a fresh offensive!
OMG, look at how out of place that weirdo James Talarico looks like at a Cracker Barrel restaurant!

His history of promoting meat-free diets must be hurting his polling lmao. pic.twitter.com/okjlQZwXiK
Supporting Talarico is like supporting Cracker Barrel’s attempt to rebrand. It will go down in flames just like their fake rebranding. Don’t try to rebrand Texas!

Ask the former CEO of Cracker Barrel how that rebranding effort went.
