This Is NOT the Person CNN Anchors Needed Rushing to Their 'Journalism' Defense

It's now been over a decade since NBC News suspended and demoted former anchor Brian Williams for basically channeling Commander McBragg during some of his "reporting":

Brian Williams, the NBC "Nightly News" anchor who admitted he falsely recounted a story that he was in a helicopter that was hit by ground fire in Iraq in 2003, was suspended without pay by for six months, according to an internal NBC News memo.

The memo, written by NBC News President Deborah Turness, says Williams was notified of the suspension Tuesday and that an investigation into his actions continues. She said Williams "misrepresented events," which she called "wrong and completely inappropriate for someone in Brian's position."

Fast forward about 11 years and we now have a defense of CNN as it has existed over the last several years coming from that same "journalist":

We always knew CNN employed some biased hacks pretending to be journalists, but thanks to Williams for confirming that.

Williams definitely induces some serious eye rolls.
