POLITICO reports:
Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison sued Texas Gov. Greg Abbott on Tuesday to force the extradition of an Immigration and Customs Enforcement agent charged with assault in connection with a non-fatal shooting during an enforcement operation.
In May, Minnesota officials charged Christian Castro with four counts of second-degree assault and one count of falsely reporting a crime, alleging that he fired a gun into the front door of a Minneapolis home, striking the leg of Julio Sosa-Celis, a Venezuelan immigrant. Former acting ICE Director Todd Lyons previously said Castro and another ICE agent lied when they claimed Sosa-Celis had attacked them with a shovel and broom.

… extradition, ICE agent Christian Castro could be RELEASED in Texas as soon as NEXT WEEK, as Texas law only allows a fugitive to be held for extradition for 90 days.
Time's almost up!
Minnesota is a state that would NEVER extradite someone charged with illegal abortions to Texas, so why should Texas give in and allow Minnesota to take an ICE agent hostage?
Ellison should be in prison.

@keithellison should do his job and turn over the illegal immigrants he’s hiding from ICE so they can be extradited back to their home countries.

He is the most lawless AG in the country. pic.twitter.com/gVtm0uOJhS
Wasteful spending by a loser on a losing cause

So the attorney general invoked in countless fraud cases in Minnesota turns a blind eye to distract with this? Minnesota is a fallen state
— boneworkz (@boneworkz1) August 18, 2026
Minnesota is to corrupt of a state to allow the agent to be extradited. Minnesota is far too corrupt a state to be trusted with the extradition of this ICE agent.

Abbott’s right, that charge is pure politics. Don’t fold!
— Juli Angel (@july__angel__) August 18, 2026
Even if he was extradited, what can the state actually do to a federal officer? I'm genuinely asking if Keith even has a leg to stand on.
— Phoenix (@phxsong) August 18, 2026
Ellison wants to extradite a federal agent to a state that shields cop-killers from the death penalty. Hold the line, Abbott.
— M.A. Rothman (@MichaelARothman) August 18, 2026
Wow. I guess a democrat will actually try to get someone arrested. I thought they didn't like police or jails or prisons?
— nuclearchic (@HotshotFDG) August 18, 2026
The Minnesota AG forgets that all that stuff only applies to legitimate courts of which Minnesota has none.
— MarineViking (@leftenant26) August 18, 2026
That would be funny if Texas sent an extradition order for that AG. Just arrest the dude for unlaw disturbance or make up charges like MN does.

If he were in prison where he belongs he wouldn't be able to do this type of nonsense.
